Upcoming Releases From Shadow Kingdom Records

During the first months of 2011,  one can expect three new releases from Shadow Kingdom Records, which is specialised in classic heavy metal, doom metal, obscure hardrock as well as the legendary NWOBHM:

CONDENADOS - A Painful Journey Into Nihil
SKR040CD
Release Date: Feb 2011
CD $12.00

A relatively new Doom Metal band hailing from Chile; with a very traditional Heavy Metal / Doom Metal sound. The majority of the songs are sung in English, only a few are sung in Spanish. Carrying the old flame of Black Sabbath and Saint Vitus; CONDENADOS takes those influences to create an ultra heavy and hypnotic rhythm and riff driven album while all sung in clean vocals. The album is an epic and emotional journey to explore the dark side of your mind. Check out their latest work at http://www.myspace.com/condenadosdoom

UNHOLY CADAVER - s/t
SKR041DLPCD
Release Date: Feb/Mar 2011
Double LP + CD inside the jacket
$23.00

Shadow Kingdom Records is pleased and proud to present this amazing piece of metal history. Hammers Of Misfortune is a band who we’re all pretty familiar with now and if you’re not familiar with them, then you probably will be soon because they just signed over their back catalog to Metal Blade Records. Unholy Cadaver is basically pre-Hammers Of Misfortune. Anyone who was fortunate enough to hear the 3 song UNHOLY CADAVER demo is in for a treat because this release contains all of their material, a lot of which has never been leaked until now. The music is very unique Epic / Traditional Heavy Metal with Black Metal influences. They’re a one of a kind band and if you’ve heard Hammers Of Misfortune – The Bastard album, these songs are very much like that album and arguably better. The release has an entire history of the band, band photos, lyrics, and also this is a very unique release because this is a Double LP with a CD inside. The vinyl and CD have been individually mastered so (just to be clear) the music on the vinyl has been indeed mastered for vinyl and the CD inside was mastered for CD.

CASSLE - s/t
SKR042CD
Release Date: Feb 2011
CD $12.00

Formed in the late '70s it’s not a surprise that CASSLE has inherited those influences, in particular Deep Purple, Rush, and Judas Priest. Also since their original EP wasn’t released until 1983, they definitely have a lot of Iron Maiden and Saxon in their sound as well. I don’t think I’d call CASSLE a metal band though (even though their pictures look like they are). They are probably more of a Progressive Rock band with '80s metal influences. This is some unique music, very off-beat, dreamy, and moody with strange vocals. Their career was very short lived and some of the unreleased songs on here are arguably just as strong as the original EP if not better. This is basically a collection of all their essential material with an nice thick booklet for your enjoyment.

1. Midnight Fantasy
2. My New Flame
3. Revenge (Cassle Walls)

5. Someone Stole My Love Tonight
