PUBLIC GUILT Announces New Releases And 6th Anniversary Label Event

For the side of us that yearns for experimentation with unconventionally-designed anti-riffage and things outside of the norm of music's seemingly set boundaries, Public Guilt remains one of the top mongers of such intense sounds, and is proud to present some of its latest wares for the coming months.

The newest cerebrally-scathing full-length from ALUK TODOLO, and the mammoth split LP between AUN and HABSYLL, shall both be unleashed on 180-gram LP format this May via Public Guilt.... Full info on both releases lies below.

PUBLIC GUILT NEW RELEASE INFO:

ALUK TODOLO - Finsternis

ALUK TODOLO are a recondite creature. Part okkult black metal fiend and part snide kraut menace. Somehow the doppelganger works, and 'Finsternis' proves for a second time there is brilliance in the absence of light for this prolific French unit.

Dry, spare percussion grievously mines the scrapes, shrieks and shimmer of mutated guitar and bass. Finsternis is the German word for eclipse, mimetic of cyclic elements, phases and unphases, endless rebeginnings, broken circles and perfect circles. A dangerous, noxious coil of all things black. ALUK TODOLO has previously released a s/t 7" (2006, Implied Sound) and Descension (2007, CD on Public Guilt, LP on Riot Season). Finsternis was originally released on CD in 2009 as part of Utech Records URSK series which featured the artwork of Stephen Kasner (Sunn, Integrity, Khlyst, etc.). Other artists featured in the series included Skullflower, Runhild Gammelsæter, Final, and The Stargazer's Assistant.

ALUK TODOLO was featured at 2009's WFMU Fest in Brooklyn, NY alongside Faust, Cold Cave, Pissed Jeans, and Teenage Jesus and the Jerks. The band was also featured at the Impakt Festival (Netherlands) and Outfest (Portugal) and has shared the stage with Malkuth, White Hills, The Psychic Paramount, Träd Gräs Och Stenar, Psychic Ills, Silvester Anfang, Chris Corsano, Monno, and Habsyll.

'Finsternis' re-rears its ugly head via 180 gram LP this May 18th, 2010 on Public Guilt. Track listing: 1. Premier Contact 2. Deuxième Contact 3. Totalité 4. Troisième Contact 5. Quatrième Contact

AUN/HABSYLL split LP

Hailing from Montreal, Canada, AUN has a back catalog rich with harmonic drone, sepulchral ambience and of thick detuned guitar vistas. For this split, AUN ventures into new territory. "Druids" plays like 70's space rock on bad acid, where dissonant tones and hallucinogenic melodies slam head-first into slow, pounding beats. Texture and rhythm collide to create a dark unworldly psychedelia. "Fall Out" continues the space-y vibe, blending rhythm, bass, guitar and acidic noise shards, seemingly taking some cues from the late 60's New-York underground and mid 70's Germany.

Toulouse, France's HABSYLL accentuate angular drone and delicate improvisation with blasts of raw noise and sludge-y doom. Leaving structure and melody behind (or perhaps stretching them out so far, they are unperceivable,) HABSYLL's output is slow, raw and dynamic as hell. Composition has never felt so strange.

The split LP will be available on 180 gram wax this May 18th, 2010 on Public Guilt. Track listing: AUN: A1. Druids A2. Fall Out HABSYLL: B1. IV
