EYEHATEGOD Announce Two Special Chicago Performances

New Orleans sludge metal titans EYEHATEGOD performed a special one-off show last Friday at Emo's in Austin, Texas. Those lucky enough to be in attendance witnessed the band play their coveted first two full-lengths -- 'In The Name Of Suffering' and 'Take As Needed For Pain' respectively -- in their entirety! Needless to say, it ruled in unimaginable ways. Elaborated Hellbound.ca of the historic spectacle: "...The collective anticipation and tension swelled like a ripening fruit ready to burst...The slow riffs of [Jimmy] Bower [also the drummer of Down], Brian Patton [also Soilent Green’s guitarist] and relatively new bassist Gary Mader sounded as though they were literally being strummed beneath the surface of a murky Louisiana swamp, such was their slow and powerful delivery...It was a thunderous, distinctly southern kind of blues 'n' doom poured through a punk-rock filter."

EYEHATEGOD -- Bower, Patton, Mader, vocalist Mike Williams and drummer Joey LaCaze -- will kick off their long-anticipated US tour alongside psychedelic black metallers Nachtmystium (from June 4 – 15) and a rotating roster of other eclectic openers on June 3 at Blackbooth in Orlando, Florida. The band will pillage through 16 cities before winding down in Chicago for two dates at the Empty Bottle where they will again perform 'In The Name Of Suffering' (June 19) and 'Take As Needed For Pain' (June 20) in their entirety. If you missed it the first time, now's your chance!
