A new release from RISE ABOVE and this album is like an ultra-heavy steamroller. The only thing I know about SALLY is, that vocalist Lee Smith was part of PENANCE between '93 - '95. This debut of SALLY has everything that a fan of heavy-doomy-bluesy Rock wants. You'll also find their track "Four twelve" from the "Rise 13" compilation here but in a different production. One of my favourite tracks is "Sonic Mountain". It's real Sonic Mountain!!!
A nice joke you'll find at the beginning of "Rolling Thunder" and at the end. I think it's SALLY`s tribute to AC/DC. But all songs are good and together they create a strong debut. SALLY is very thick and they build a wall of guitars and bass with a dynamic drummer. And their trademark is Lee's voice. He sounds so lysergic and broken and total unique. I think that a tour together with PENANCE must be mind-blowing. So, if you want to spend your hard - earned money in a new band take this one. Contact RISE ABOVE !
