CATHEDRAL (Gargoylian) 7"
Two unreleased songs from one of the oldest English Doombands are on single #2 that presents us SOUTHERN LORD RECORDS. I think, that both songs are from the recording sessions for the "Endtyme" album, because of the fact that Billy Anderson was the producer. "Gargoylian" is a typical ultra heavy groove-rocker, that connects the early slow CATHEDRAL songs with their mid-tempo material. Not bad !
But the real surprise is the other song "Earth In The Grip Of A Skeletal Hand" (nice title!). It´s the fastest and hardest song from CATHEDRAL, a brutal bastard between the early DISCHARGE and EHG, full of distortion and anger. Together with the brilliant artwork it´s a must have for every serious collector of thee heaviest Rock stuff and you shouldn´t be without this limited vinyl single.
