MINDBLIZZ (Promo 2005) MCD-R

Apr/04/2005

I don't know how vastly this demo's been overlooked but at least I haven't read anything about or maybe I can't remember. ...

MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT (Time & Withering) CD

Feb/06/2005

Hailing from Dayton, Ohio MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT are taking the aural assault of Neurosis or Isis as a template in combination with post-rock aesthetics and have carved out their musical visions within four rollercoaster cuts. Due to the fact, that three of the four songs are about ten minutes, "Time & Withering" can be seen as their debut full-length, and has been released by Translation Loss Records...

MONKEY3 (s/t) CD

Feb/06/2005

This album has been originally released by the band as limited digi-pack and was only available via webstores and underground distribution. But in the beginning of 2004 this Swiss band signed with Buzzville Records and the first result is the re-issue of the self-titled debut album...

MEZZANINE (American Burnout) CD

Feb/06/2005

I don't know, if guitarist and vocalist Joe Carpenter is aware of the fact that his vocals are sounding as if he's the small brother of Pepper Keenan. The first half of "American Burnout" is comparable with a basic unreleased demo version of COC's masterpiece "Deliverance", what means that MEZZANINE have the same musical influences like southern rock and 70's hard rock...

MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE (s/t) CD

Feb/06/2005

I once in a while recommend a heavy metal album. ...

MUGWART (Discography) CD

Sep/10/2004

First off, my biggest thanks goes out to John from This Dark Reign/Devil Doll Records for releasing this necessary CD. MUGWART were one of the finest US bands, who infected this world with a brutal heavy combination of sludgy patterns, southern blues licks and hardcore-tinged aggression...

MOURNFUL CONGREGATION / STABAT MATER (s/t) Split 7"

Sep/09/2004

The "Suicidal Doom Series" of PAINIAC RECORDS continues with another split release, featuring two bands who've contributed to that concept before, as well as sharing a release with German/French extremists WORSHIP. So it's obvious, that both names will compliment each other very well...

MIRROR OF DECEPTION (Conversion) MCD

Aug/09/2004

After the departure of vocalist Markus Baumhauer, this is the first sonic sign of life of the German-based band MIRROR OF DECEPTION, this time on the Miskatonic Foundation label. Guitarist Michael Sifferman is now doing all the singing, and for me, it's a step forward in progression of their sound...

MOURNFUL CONGREGATION/WORSHIP (The Epitome Of Gods And Men Alike) Split 7"

Jul/29/2004

"Extreme Doom crafted by the blackest hand of matter. ...

MOUNTAIN MIRRORS (Voices) MCD

Jul/29/2004

The main-man behind this progressive Psychedelic project is Jeff Sanders. I've never heard anything of the Mirrors and Jeff's other projects, but "Voices" is an amazing tree tracker...
