Record Reviews

SEA OF GREEN (Time To Fly) CD

Jul/20/2004

Like I've said in the "Northern Lights" review, the full-length will show the qualities of this Canadian band and after a lot of spins in my player I must admit, that "Time To Fly" is a high-quality debut. The album includes eleven tracks and a fine cover-version of Pink Floyd's "Breathe"...

SCISSORFIGHT (American Cloven Hoof Blues) CD

Jul/19/2004

"American Cloven Hoof" contains seven brandnew songs, and re-written versions of five older ones from the debut "Guaranteed Kill". Once again, the band worked together with producer Craig Riggs (vocalist of Roadsaw), who has done a good job...

SCENE KILLER (s/t) CD

Jul/19/2004

Although this CD has been released two years ago in 2000, I had to lose some words about it. Scene Killer isn't a new band...

THE SATELLITE CIRCLE (s/t) CD

Jul/19/2004

This is the first full-length from this Swedish band and with this album, they've released nine tasteful and variable tracks, that are a step forward after the first and good CD-EP "Way Beyond The Portal Of The Bone White Rubber Sun" (see demo reviews). This band isn't only influenced from the early 70's, no this three guys are still breathing the spirit of bands like Sir Lord Baltimore, Captain Beyond or the 13th Floor Elevators and this debut could be dated back to 1971...

SANTERIA (House Of The Dying Sun) CD

Jul/19/2004

Sometimes when I'm thinking about my beloved heavy music, I often ask myself if there's any unknown heavy band around, that impresses me so much that I could become immediatley a fan of them. This happened to me, when I received the promo of the third SANTERIA album...

SALLY (s/t) CD

Jul/19/2004

A new release from RISE ABOVE and this album is like an ultra-heavy steamroller. The only thing I know about SALLY is, that vocalist Lee Smith was part of PENANCE between '93 - '95...

THE SABIANS (Beauty For Ashes) CD

Jul/19/2004

If you've read the interview with Justin Marler of THE SABIANS in this webzine than you'll know that Justin and Chris Hakius are two former members of Sleep, but if you expect that THE SABIANS are the legitimate Sleep follower than you maybe dissapointed. They are very different from their former band...

RWAKE (Hell is a Door to the Sun) CD

Jul/19/2004

It's nearly impossible to describe some bands with words. In this case, it's RWAKE with their second album, released on the fine underground label Retribute Records...

THE RUBES (Hokum) CD

Jul/19/2004

I never heard anything before of this Ohio trio, so this is my first time with them. And "Hokum" knows to entertain with it's ten diverse tracks...

ROLLERBALL (s/t) CD

Jul/19/2004

Formed in 1998 in Brisbane, Australia, ROLLERBALL are belonging to the genre of heavy ultrafuzzy rock bands. This album contains their two CD-EP's, three new tracks and two video clips for the songs "Evie (Pt...
